This month our Gratitude layout is all about “ love the life you have, embrace each moment, live with purpose.” Everyday we should live the best we can. Now let’s start our creative journey and create a great layout based around our saying for the month.

By looking at the saying at hand, there is aquamarine, orange, and hot pink in the journaling card. We have chosen a 12 x 12 background sheet with orange to help accentuate the colors in the journaling card. Using a background with orange allows the saying to stand out a bit more. We will now choose other elements around the saying to help make the Gratitude saying “pop” and draw our audience directly to the saying on the page.

As with past layouts, we have used layering as a way to enhance and add dimension to the layout. For this layout, we have chosen to add a bit of dimension to the saying by using a 9 x12 border with aquamarine and white was chosen to add a bit of color to the layout. If you notice, we have chosen to stick with orange and aquamarine to allow the black color in the saying to draw the viewer’s attention directly to the saying at hand.

Now that we have all our elements, we can now glue all of the items down. The 9 x 12 striped aquamarine and white border  was glued down. Next we secured the journaling card with the saying. Once these elements are secured, start to think about placement of embellishments and die cuts to use for this layout.

Lastly, our embellishments and die cuts were added. Again, we chose embellishments with the same colors has our saying. We chose embellishments that would aid to the saying and the colors in the layout. There is a continuous theme of color that gives our layout a cohesive look that gives our viewer a nice subtle feel rather than a rush of color. When using embellishments, paper die cuts, and stickers they are meant to enhance your page. They are not meant to overwhelm the viewer. When in doubt, less is more.

Now let’s see what embellishments, and die cuts have been added. Flower die cuts were added to the bottom of the quote. These elements not only enhance the layout, but also there is meaning behind each element that has been added to the layout. The flower embellishments were added to represent nature, and to complement the orange color throughout the layout. The swirl die cuts were placed around the journaling card to give the saying more emphasis on the page. The embellishment of the bicycle, flowers, and the journaling card with “today is the day” to emphasis the gratitude saying of the month.

Let the words take center stage and there is no need for photos. The use of background paper, embellishments, die cuts, and stickers will help us create a world of gratitude. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for our Gratitude page for June.
